On Sunday, September 6, 2009, 10 am, we meet at the Johnsons for brunch, prayer and a mission.  Our time together will be followed up with a “connecting others to God” kindness/servant outreach to Concord Community Days,  from noon to 3 pm.  See Mike Bolden sometime in August to volunteer for the parade water outreach ministry.  At the parade our church family will provide “cups of cold water” for those waiting to start in the parade lineup areas and cleanup along the parade route as it comes to a close.  Keep this “connecting others” opportunity in prayer and make yourself available to help Sunday afternoon September 6, 2009.

Forty Days of Love – As a part of our mission to ‘connect with one another,’ fall small groups will begin the study, 40 Days of Love, the week of September 20, 2009.  Based on an exhaustive study of what Jesus did and said about relationships, small groups will join together on a forty-day journey that will bring new health and richness to our marriages, families, friendships, and all the relationships in our lives.  This study is a part of the church mission to connect with ‘one another.’  To read more click here.

Operation Christmas Child –  Thank you for your support for Operation Christmas Child in 2008. As we look to 2009, watch for ways you can make your gift go further.  Look for back-to-school specials for crayons and art supplies or visit dollar stores to find the right supplies or toys that can change a child's life.  By spreading out your purchases during the year, you keep the ministry and the children in your thoughts. Also, when you obtain supplies, take time to pray for the child or children that will receive your gift and that the Lord may be a blessing to them and their families. For more information on Operation Christmas Child click here.  For directions on how to pack a shoe box click here.  Collections will conclude on Sunday, November 16, 2009.

This Week’s Treasure Principle — “But since I’ve been giving to Him [a tithe], everything’s changed.  In fact, giving has brought me closer to God than anything else.” —Mark, Kentucky Attorney.  Have you applied to your life this “Treasure Principle?”
